How do I get started with The Pawfessionals?
Getting started is easy. Create your client profile through our online portal and tell us about your pets, their routines, and the services you're interested in. Once we've reviewed your information, we'll arrange a complimentary Meet & Greet before services begin.
What areas do you serve?
The Pawfessionals provides professional pet care throughout select neighborhoods in Dallas. Because availability can vary by location and service, visit our Service Areas page to see our current coverage.
Will I always have the same pet care professional?
We prioritize consistency and make every effort to have the same pet care professional care for your pets whenever possible. Having a professional team also means we can provide qualified backup when your regular sitter or walker is unavailable.
Where can I find information about policies, fees, cancellations, and other service terms?
All applicable policies, procedures, fees, cancellation terms, and other important service information are provided in your Client Agreement and any service-specific agreements or addenda. We encourage clients to review these documents carefully, as they contain the terms that apply to your services.
Do you offer recurring and occasional dog walks?
Yes. We provide both regularly scheduled dog walking and occasional walks based on availability. Whether you need ongoing weekday walks or help from time to time, we'll work with you to determine a schedule that fits your dog's routine.
What happens when the weather is extremely hot, cold, or stormy?
When temperatures are above 90°F or below 32°F, walks may be shortened for safety. During thunderstorms or lightning, pets will be taken outside briefly and the remainder of the visit will be spent indoors. During severe winter weather, service will be attempted only when it is safe, and we will contact you if conditions affect the visit.
How will I know how my dog's walk went?
After each visit, you'll receive a detailed update through Time To Pet, including photos and information about your dog's visit. Dog walks also include GPS-tracked information so you can see details about your dog's walk.
How many pet sitting visits should I schedule each day?
The appropriate schedule depends on your pets, their normal routine, and how long you’ll be away. Crated pets require at least three visits within each 24-hour period. For other pets, we’ll help determine a schedule that provides appropriate meals, potty breaks, attention, and medication based on their individual needs.
Can you provide pet sitting for pets with medical or special-care needs?
We can often care for pets with medical or special-care needs when their condition is stable and their care can be performed safely. Before confirming service, we’ll review the pet’s health, mobility, medications, written instructions, and required routine. We cannot provide regular pet-sitting services for acutely ill pets or pets with uncontrolled conditions; those pets must be cared for or boarded by a veterinarian.
What happens if my pet becomes sick or there is an emergency while I'm away?
If your pet becomes ill or is injured, we will make every reasonable effort to contact you or your emergency contact. When necessary, The Pawfessionals is authorized to transport your pet to the designated veterinarian or an emergency clinic and act in the pet’s best interest. The Client Agreement contains the applicable emergency-care charges and the client’s responsibility for veterinary, transportation, and additional-care costs..
How often should my cat be visited while I'm away?
For the safety and well-being of your cat, The Pawfessionals requires at least one visit every other day while you're away. Some cats may benefit from daily or more frequent visits depending on their age, health, feeding schedule, medications, or individual needs. We'll work with you to determine the visit schedule that's most appropriate for your cat.
Where will my dog stay while being boarded?
Our boarding service is home-based, not a traditional kennel or commercial boarding facility. Dogs stay in a comfortable home environment where they can settle into a normal household routine and receive personalized attention while you're away.
Will my dog be around other dogs while boarding?
Yes. Because boarding takes place in a home environment, your dog may be around our resident dogs and other approved boarding guests. For everyone's safety and comfort, we carefully consider each dog's temperament, behavior, and compatibility before accepting a boarding reservation.
What are your boarding drop-off and pickup times?
Standard boarding drop-off and pickup windows are 9:00–10:00 a.m. and 3:00–4:00 p.m. Other arrangements, including PetTaxi service, must be made in advance. Late pickup may result in an additional nightly fee, and clients should notify us immediately if they are delayed.

Can you board senior dogs or dogs with special needs?
Possibly. We consider each dog’s age, mobility, health, medication needs, temperament, and comfort in a home environment. Medical conditions and special-care needs must be disclosed before booking. We may refuse or discontinue boarding if a dog is ill, aggressive, destructive, or otherwise unsuitable for home-based boarding.
Can a family member arrange pet care for an Edgemere resident?
Yes. A family member or guardian may serve as the Responsible Party for an Edgemere resident. That person may arrange services and receive updates and is financially responsible under the Client Agreement. Before service begins, we must have the appropriate care instructions, contact information, and access arrangements.
Do you offer a complimentary Meet & Greet?

I've never used a professional dog walker or pet sitter before. What should I expect?
We'll guide you through the process from the beginning. After creating your account, we'll learn about your pets, their routines, care instructions, and any special needs during your complimentary Meet & Greet. Once services begin, you'll receive detailed visit reports and updates so you always know how your pets are doing.
Will my dog be walked with dogs from other households?
No. We do not offer pack walks or combine dogs from different households. Your dog's walk is reserved for the pets in your household, allowing us to provide individualized attention based on their routine, pace, and needs.
Do you guarantee an exact arrival time for dog walks?
Exact arrival times are not guaranteed. Visits are generally completed within a two-hour arrival window unless another arrangement has been confirmed in writing. If your pet has a time-sensitive need, such as medication, please tell us before booking so we can determine whether an appropriate arrangement can be made.
Can you adjust my dog’s walk for their age, mobility, or energy level?
Yes. Walks can often be adjusted for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with mobility limitations or lower energy levels. The pace, distance, and outdoor time will be based on the dog’s abilities, weather conditions, leash behavior, and safety. We may decline or discontinue walks if a dog’s health or behavior makes the service unsafe.
What is included in a pet sitting visit?
Our pet sitting visits are personalized around your pet's normal routine and care instructions. Depending on your pet's needs, visits may include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks or walks, medication, playtime, companionship, and other routine care discussed during your Meet & Greet.
Can you administer medication to my pet?
Medication can often be included when appropriate and when clear written instructions are provided. We do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment. Pets with an acute illness or uncontrolled condition may need to be boarded with a veterinarian rather than cared for through our regular services.
Will I receive updates while I'm away?
Yes. After each visit, you'll receive a Time To Pet visit report with photos and an update about how your pet is doing, giving you an easy way to stay connected while you're away.
What is included in a cat sitting visit?
Cat sitting visits are personalized around your cat's normal routine and may include feeding, fresh water, litter box care, medication when needed, playtime, companionship, and plenty of attention for cats who enjoy it.
What if my cat hides during the visit?
That's perfectly normal for some cats, especially when their family is away. We won't force interaction with a cat who prefers some space. Your sitter will follow your cat's normal routine, provide their scheduled care, and give them the opportunity to interact on their own terms.
Is boarding available to new clients?
Boarding is offered on a limited basis to established Pawfessionals clients whose dogs we already know. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and confirmation that the dog is suitable for our home-based environment.
What should I bring for my dog's boarding stay?
Please provide enough regular food for the entire stay, required medications with clear written instructions, and your dog’s leash, harness, and collar with current ID tags. Beds, blankets, and toys are optional, but items left with a pet are not guaranteed to be returned in the same condition and The Pawfessionals is not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.
Will I receive photos and updates while my dog is boarding?
Yes. We'll keep you updated during your dog's stay so you can see how they're doing and enjoy photos while you're away.
