FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will my dog stay while being boarded?

Our boarding service is home-based, not a traditional kennel or commercial boarding facility. Dogs stay in a comfortable home environment where they can settle into a normal household routine and receive personalized attention while you're away.

Is boarding available to new clients?

Boarding is offered on a limited basis to established Pawfessionals clients whose dogs we already know. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and confirmation that the dog is suitable for our home-based environment.

Will my dog be around other dogs while boarding?

Yes. Because boarding takes place in a home environment, your dog may be around our resident dogs and other approved boarding guests. For everyone's safety and comfort, we carefully consider each dog's temperament, behavior, and compatibility before accepting a boarding reservation.

Can you administer medication to my pet?

Medication can often be included when appropriate and when clear written instructions are provided. We do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment. Pets with an acute illness or uncontrolled condition may need to be boarded with a veterinarian rather than cared for through our regular services.

What should I bring for my dog's boarding stay?

Please provide enough regular food for the entire stay, required medications with clear written instructions, and your dog’s leash, harness, and collar with current ID tags. Beds, blankets, and toys are optional, but items left with a pet are not guaranteed to be returned in the same condition and The Pawfessionals is not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.

What are your boarding drop-off and pickup times?

Standard boarding drop-off and pickup windows are 9:00–10:00 a.m. and 3:00–4:00 p.m. Other arrangements, including PetTaxi service, must be made in advance. Late pickup may result in an additional nightly fee, and clients should notify us immediately if they are delayed.

Will I always have the same pet care professional?

We prioritize consistency and make every effort to have the same pet care professional care for your pets whenever possible. Having a professional team also means we can provide qualified backup when your regular sitter or walker is unavailable.

Will I receive updates while I'm away?

Yes. After each visit, you'll receive a Time To Pet visit report with photos and an update about how your pet is doing, giving you an easy way to stay connected while you're away.

Will I receive photos and updates while my dog is boarding?

Yes. We'll keep you updated during your dog's stay so you can see how they're doing and enjoy photos while you're away.

I've never used a professional dog walker or pet sitter before. What should I expect?

We'll guide you through the process from the beginning. After creating your account, we'll learn about your pets, their routines, care instructions, and any special needs during your complimentary Meet & Greet. Once services begin, you'll receive detailed visit reports and updates so you always know how your pets are doing.

Can you board senior dogs or dogs with special needs?

Possibly. We consider each dog’s age, mobility, health, medication needs, temperament, and comfort in a home environment. Medical conditions and special-care needs must be disclosed before booking. We may refuse or discontinue boarding if a dog is ill, aggressive, destructive, or otherwise unsuitable for home-based boarding.

Where can I find information about policies, fees, cancellations, and other service terms?

All applicable policies, procedures, fees, cancellation terms, and other important service information are provided in your Client Agreement and any service-specific agreements or addenda. We encourage clients to review these documents carefully, as they contain the terms that apply to your services.
